Dr. Jin Young Choi, Professor of New Testament & Baptist Missionary Training School Professorial Chair in Biblical Studies at CRCDS, was selected to be one of the first Academic Fellows of the Wendland-Cook Program in Religion and Justice at Vanderbilt Divinity School. The academic fellowship is for scholars who engage in the intersections of religion, economic justice, and environmental justice. As the Program places a high value on popular education as a pedagogical strategy, Dr. Choi will engage with doctoral and masters’ students and the broader audience through presentations, lectures, training, and writings throughout 2022. With the support of the fellowship program, she hopes to do research and develop teaching materials around issues of racial, economic, and ecological justice, which are rarely discussed in biblical studies. For more information, visit the Wendland-Cook Program’s training platform (Exchanges) and online forum (Interventions) on which Dr. Choi’s work will appear.
