A Message from Rev. Dr. Michael Ford
Greetings from Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School (CRCDS). My name is Rev. Dr. Michael Ford (D. Min. ’12), and I have been honored with the responsibility of serving as the new Chair of the Board Trustees of CRCDS for the upcoming academic year. I have served on the Board for the past four years and have been part of the many significant decisions made regarding the future direction of the school. Throughout all our deliberations, the Trustees have worked tirelessly to respect and honor the 200 year legacy of CRCDS while also setting a course for flourishing and future success. Although this is a time of significant change for CRCDS, I am filled with optimism and excitement as we move forward toward the next 200 years.
Walking the halls of the current campus on the “hill”, I am reminded of the countless students who have been shaped and formed by CRCDS over so many years. I am struck by the reality of our graduates taking what they learn in the classroom and living that out into the community through their varied ministries. CRCDS is traveling a similar path as it moves off the “hill” taking its mission and vision out into the community among the very people it has always served. CRCDS remains committed to providing quality progressive theological education and to preparing leaders who speak truth to power effectively while sharing God’s message of love and justice with others. Our address is changing, but our mission and our dedication to it remains steadfast.
We need you and your continued support at this important time in the life of our school. You have continued to be so generous during this transition. Please know how grateful we all are for you. If possible, I ask you to consider increasing your support. Dr. Angela Sims, our incoming president, has a challenging and exciting vision for the success of CRCDS that she is eager to share with you. Help us to ensure Dr. Sims has the resources to make her vision a reality, a vision that creates a model for theological education in the 21st Century.
The work of CRCDS requires the collective effort of our students, faculty, staff, Trustees, alumni/ae, friends and churches each doing their part to provide the quality theological education CRCDS is known for. Please consider making a gift to CRCDS at this crucial time. Your giving will help make our successful future a reality.
It is an honor to serve our school, and I am eager to work alongside each of you as CRCDS transitions to this new time in its distinguished history. We are dedicated to the mission of CRCDS, and together we will work to see that mission realized for a new generation. Thank you for all you do in making our mission a reality.
Yours in Christ,
Rev. Dr. Michael J. Ford
Chair of the Board of Trustees, 2019-2020
