About the Janice Lynn Cohen Symposium:

The Cohen Symposium is sponsored jointly by Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School and the Department of Pediatrics of the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and serves as an avenue of dialogue between members of the clergy and medical professionals. The idea for the symposium came following the death of the young daughter of Doris and Marshall Cohen. During the time of their daughter’s hospitalization and subsequent death, they recognized the importance of pastoral as well as medical care. This is an annual symposium for members of the clergy and medical personnel to deal together with topics related to children. The symposium this year will be held virtually. Topics have included: “Resiliency: Coping with Childhood Illness and Death,” “Healing Childhood Violence in our Community,” “Medicine/Miracles,” and “Will Family Values Save Our Children.”
