Mission Co-Worker Chaplain
Position: A mission co-worker of the Presbytery of Genesee Valley and employee chaplain of Rochester Presbyterian Home.
Contract Dates: Annual and renewable. Either party may end the contract with 30 days written notice.
Contract Terms: 10 Hours per week leadership and planning of Sunday worship service and special worship services (Holy Week and Christmas) at Rochester Presbyterian Home; preparation of worship materials; Presbytery authorizes the serving of communion by the chaplain.
10 Hours per week pastoral care to former Westminster Presbyterian Church members and residents of Rochester Presbyterian Home
5 Hours per week outreach and interpretation to Presbytery churches; developing partnership and involvement of member churches (training will be provided); liaison with Presbytery’s Mission and Advocacy Committee
Salary: $400 per week
8 weeks and 8 Sundays annually paid vacation
Program expenses are reimbursable as negotiated with the Executive Director of the Rochester Presbyterian Home.
The Mission Co-Worker Chaplain is an employee of the Rochester Presbyterian Home and supervised by the Rochester Presbyterian Home’s Executive Director. A Mission and Advocacy liaison will meet with the mission co-worker and the director at least twice yearly to review the progress and effectiveness of the ministry.
Prior experience with the elderly and elderly with dementia is advantageous.
