Note: CRCDS does not automatically enroll students in health insurance, nor do does the School process payment for insurance.
Insurance plans are available for August 2013 – January 2014 through the American College Student Association which uses United Healthcare to underwrite the plan. Students may go directly to their website for detailed information about the plans or to enroll.
1) The policy effective dates are August 1, 2013-January 31, 2014.
2) Plans will be sold in 6, 3, and 1 month increments.
3) The rates will remain the same for the 6 month duration (beginning in August) and are only available on the Budget Plan and Low Option Plan.
4) The reason behind the shortened policy year dates are due to the implementation of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act by Health and Human Services. Plans through the New York Health Benefit Exchange will become effective in January 2014. Information about enrollment in those plans is available at this link.
Other Insurance Options
Students are also encouraged to explore other low cost health insurance options offered by New York State and local insurance companies so that they may make an informed decision based on their individual health care needs. More information about health insurance options may be found at the following links.
