REMINDER: CRCDS Celebrates 12th Presidential Inauguration

Rochester, NY – At 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School will formally install its 12th President: Rev. Marvin A. McMickle, Ph.D.

Dr. James Hal Cone–the American theologian best known for his advocacy of Black liberation theology–will be giving the key address. Many public officials, university delegates and religious leaders from across the country will be in attendance.

The Inauguration also includes two events in Rochester, NY, that will take place Wednesday, October 17, 2012:

  1. The Inaugural Symposium from 1:00-3:00 pm at Asbury First United Methodist Church at 1050 East Ave., which will feature a lecture and discussion with Rev. Emilie Townes, Ph.D., Andrew W. Mellon Professor of African American Religion and Theology at Yale University.
  2. The Inaugural Community Worship with renowned preacher and Colgate Rochester alumnus Rev. Dr. H. Beecher Hicks, Jr. at 7:00 pm at Aenon Baptist Church, 175 Genesee St.


  • The award-winning gospel choir from Antioch Baptist Church in Cleveland, OH, will be performing.
  • Refreshments will be offered after the ceremony.
