Many Faces of God: An Interfaith Encounter - Begins September 8, 2008 at CRCDS from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. This is a course for Christians that introduces them to the Christian theological responses to religious pluralism. It also provides a primer on a variety of world religions, including Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism and Bahai. Evening lectures at CRCDS and site visits to places of worship in the different world religious traditions are part of the course. The course runs from September through December on various Monday evenings, with some site visits occurring on Saturdays, and the others on Monday evenings. The dates of the lectures and site visits are listed below.

Buddhist Christian Dialogue/Maitreya Project - CRCDS will host the Miatreya Project, a traveling exhibit of Buddhist religious relics which will be in residence at CRCDS from September 26-28. Visitors may tour the exhibit free of charge and Tibetan Buddhist monks will be available to offer blessings and prayers to those pilgrims who visit. In preparation for this event, LLL is sponsoring a three week evening series of Buddhist Christian dialogues on Wednesday evenings, September 10, 17 and 24. The topics of the dialogues are:
September 10 - Buddhist: The Venerable Tenzin Yignyen; Christian - Dr. Melanie May, Academic Dean, CRCDS.
September 17 - Buddhist: The Venerable Tenzin Yignyen; Christian: Fr. Francis X. Mazur, Roman Catholic Interreligious Officer, Buffalo, New York.
September 24 - Buddhist: The Venerable Tenzin Yignyen; Compassion: Buddhist and Christian Perspectives. Christian: Fr. Francis X. Mazur, Roman Catholic Interreligious Officer, Buffalo, New York.
The Buddhist speaker at these events will be The Venerable Tenzin Yignyen, Master of Sutra and Tantra, Namygal Monastery, Instructor of Asian Languages and Cultures, Hobart William and Smith Colleges.
Tuition for the dialogue sessions: $80 for all three sessions. $30 per individual session. $20 per session for seniors and CRCDS students.
